IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER FOR OUR SESSIONS

  1. Confidentiality: What we discuss here stays between us, unless there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others. If I need to break confidentiality for your safety, I will explain why but we will first have a conversation before any decisions or steps are taken.
  2. Respect and Safety: Our sessions are a safe space where we both treat each other with respect. You can express yourself freely, but it’s important to use language that is respectful.
  3. Time and Punctuality: Our sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes, and it’s important to make the most of that time. Please try to arrive on time. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. Our sessions will be held over WhatsApp video call, Google meet or Zoom. The camera will be turned on in our sessions. We are unable to engage in sessions if we are not able to see each other. Moreover, if you or I are 15 minutes or more late for the beginning of a session, that session will not take place as we need more than 45 minutes to have a proper session.
  4. Communication Between Sessions: If you need to reach out between sessions, please note that I may not be able to respond immediately. In emergencies, it’s important to contact emergency services or a crisis hotline.
  5. Our Roles: My role is to support you, not to tell you what to do or make decisions for you. Your role is to actively participate, share honestly, and let me know what you need from our time together.
  6. Limits of Our Relationship: Our relationship is professional. To maintain the best environment for your growth, we won’t have contact outside of our sessions beyond what is necessary for scheduling or follow-ups.
  7. Your Autonomy: You are in control of what you choose to discuss, and you can let me know if there’s a topic, you’re not ready to talk about. Your comfort is important.
  8. Feedback Is Welcome: If something in our sessions isn’t working for you, please let me know. Your feedback helps us make the sessions as helpful as possible.
